Solani Sampies has spent more than 40 years perfecting the art of working with wire and tin. He is well-known for his tin mail boxes and lunch or tool boxes. Solani also makes windmills, decorative teaspoons, statues of birds for the garden, braai grids, baskets and just about anything else on request. He has also won numerous prizes for his vegetable garden in Steytlerville’s annual garden competition. Solani sells his vegetables to neighbours in order to supplement his
income.
